General

Pressure valves of type DB 6 D are direct operated pressure relief valves.

They are used for limiting the system pressure.

The pressure relief valves basically consist of the main valve (1) with main spool insert (2) and the pressure adjustment element (3).

The pressure applied to channel P acts on the main spool (2).

If the pressure in channel P exceeds the value set at the spring (5), the poppet (4) opens against the spring (5) and the main spool (2) is free to move accordingly against the spring. So hydraulic fluid flows over the control edge (6) out of channel P to T.
