The Sun Hydraulics CBFGCCV (CBFGCCV) is a high-performance counterbalance valve with pilot assist, designed for controlling overrunning loads in hydraulic systems. This valve features a check valve that permits free flow from the directional valve's port 2 to the load port 1, while a direct-acting, pilot-assisted relief valve manages flow from port 1 to port 2. The pilot assist at port 3 effectively reduces the relief valve's setting based on the pilot ratio, enhancing operational flexibility and efficiency. Notably engineered for precise load control, the CBFGCCV is set to at least 1.3 times the maximum load-induced pressure to ensure safety and stability under varying operational conditions. The adjustment of this valve is straightforward; turning the adjustment clockwise decreases the setting and releases the load, with a full clockwise setting being less than 200 psi (14 bar). Counterbalance valves with pilot assist are meant to control an overrunning load. The check valve allows free flow from the directional valve (port 2) to the load (port 1) while a direct-acting, pilot-assisted relief valve controls flow from port 1 to port 2.
