The Sun Hydraulics CDAAEBV (CDAAEBV) is a dual-function back-to-back check valve designed to integrate two simple check valves into one compact cartridge. This innovative design allows the valve to connect the higher of two work ports to a signal or common port, which is sensed at an external port located in the hex end of the cartridge. Engineered for high performance, the CDAAEBV features hardened, spherically lapped, guided poppets along with a lightly stressed helical spring. These components are crucial for ensuring excellent wear characteristics and maintaining extremely low leakage rates, specified at 5 drops/min or 0.3 cc/min. The valve operates efficiently up to a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a flow capacity of 2.5 gpm (10 L/min). It is constructed using Sun’s floating style construction technique to minimize internal parts binding that could result from excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. The CDAAEBV fits into a T13A cavity and requires an installation torque between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm). The physical dimensions include a valve hex size of 7/8 in. (22.2 mm) and it weighs approximately 0.30 lb (0.15 kg). For maintenance or replacement needs, the appropriate seal kit is identified under Viton: 990010006. This back-to-back check valve does not facilitate lowering a signal; therefore, it will trap a high signal if load pressures fall below this trapped pressure, necessitating an external means for bleeding off this signal to ensure optimal operation and safety.

The back-to-back check valve combines two simple check valves into a single cartridge. It connects the higher of two work ports to the signal or common port. The signal is sensed at an external port located in the hex-end of the cartridge.

  • Back-to-back check cartridges feature hardened, spherically lapped, guided poppets and a lightly stressed helical spring that result in excellent wear characteristics and extremely low leakage rates.
  • The back-to-back checks do not provide a means of lowering a signal. They will trap a high signal if the load pressures drop to a lower pressure. Some means of bleeding off the signal should be provided.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
