The Sun Hydraulics CDABBBN (CDABBBN) is a sophisticated back-to-back check valve designed to streamline hydraulic operations by combining two simple check valves into a single cartridge. This integration facilitates the connection of the work port with the higher pressure to the signal or common port, with the signal being sensed at port 3. The CDABBBN model is engineered for superior performance, featuring hardened, spherically lapped, guided poppets and a lightly stressed helical spring. These components are critical in achieving excellent wear characteristics and maintaining extremely low leakage rates, specified at 5 drops/min or 0.3 cc/min. Constructed with Sun's floating style design, the CDABBBN minimizes internal parts binding that can occur due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity-cartridge machining. This model is designed for use in systems requiring precise control where leakage minimization is crucial. It operates efficiently within a hydraulic fluid capacity of 2.5 gpm (10 L/min) and can withstand a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve's hex size is 7/8 in. (22.2 mm), and it requires an installation torque of between 30 - 35 lbf·ft (41 - 47 Nm). Weighing just 0.30 lb (0.15 kg), this model is both compact and robust, suitable for various hydraulic applications where space and reliability are key considerations. Additionally, it’s important to note that while the CDABBBN effectively traps high signals if load pressures drop, it does not inherently provide a means to lower a signal; thus, an external method for bleeding off the signal should be provided to ensure optimal functionality and safety in its application environment.

The back-to-back check valve combines two simple check valves into a single cartridge. It connects the work port with the higher pressure to the signal or common port. The signal is sensed at port 3.

  • Back-to-back check cartridges feature hardened, spherically lapped, guided poppets and a lightly stressed helical spring that result in excellent wear characteristics and extremely low leakage rates.
  • The back-to-back checks do not provide a means of lowering a signal. They will trap a high signal if the load pressures drop to a lower pressure. Some means of bleeding off the signal should be provided.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
