The Sun Hydraulics CKCCEFV (CKCCEFV) is a highly efficient pilot-to-open check valve designed for hydraulic systems requiring reliable load holding and hose break protection. It features a 3-port configuration that allows free flow from valve port 2 to the load port 1 while blocking flow in the opposite direction. The valve operation is controlled by pressure at pilot port 3, which opens the valve from port 1 to port 2. The required pilot pressure at port 3 is directly proportional to the load pressure at port 1, with backpressure at port 2 opposing this pilot pressure. This model incorporates a sealed pilot and a Delrin seat, making it suitable for medium-pressure systems that may not be subjected to high flows or temperatures, and where cross-port leakage is undesirable. Its design ensures extremely low leakage rates; however, any occurrence of load drift suggests potential seat contamination and necessitates valve replacement. For specific applications, an external piloting configuration can be opted for by blocking port 3. The CKCCEFV supports up to a maximum operating pressure of 2500 psi (175 bar) and has a capacity of up to 15 gpm (60 L/min). It also features Sun's floating style construction which minimizes internal parts binding due to installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. This model is also available with manual load release control options and can be installed using a torque range of 30 -35 lbf ft (41 -47 Nm).

This valve is a pilot to open check valve. It has a sealed pilot, a Delrin seat, and is non-vented. It allows free flow from the valve (port 2) to the load (port 1) and blocks flow in the opposite direction. Pressure at the pilot (port 3) will open the valve from port 1 to port 2. Pilot pressure needed at port 3 to open the valve is directly proportional to the load pressure at port 1. Pressure at port 2 directly opposes pilot pressure.

  • This 3 port pilot-to-open check valve and 3 port counterbalance valves are physically interchangeable (i.e. same cavities, same flow path for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
  • Provides hose break protection, prevents loads from drifting and positively locks pressurized loads.
  • Sealed pilot for use in circuits where cross port leakage is undesirable.
  • Optional external porting out of the hex end of the cartridge is available for external piloting. In this configuration, port 3 is blocked. See Control options E, and P.
  • The Delrin seat is suitable for dirty, medium pressure systems that are not subjected to high flows or temperatures.
  • Extremely low leakage. If the load drifts due to the valve, the seat has probably been damaged by contamination and the valve should be replaced.
