The Sun Hydraulics CKCCPDN (CKCCPDN) is a high-performance pilot-to-open check valve designed for hydraulic systems requiring reliable load holding and hose break protection. This valve allows free flow from port 2 to port 1 and blocks flow in the opposite direction, ensuring that pressurized loads are positively locked and loads do not drift. The sealed pilot feature makes it ideal for applications where cross-port leakage is undesirable, enhancing system integrity and performance. The CKCCPDN operates with a maximum capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min) and can handle up to 2500 psi (175 bar), making it suitable for medium pressure systems. It features a Delrin seat, which is particularly effective in environments with medium pressure levels and where the system may be exposed to contamination; however, it remains sensitive to damage from hard particles. The valve's design includes optional external porting for more versatile piloting configurations. This model incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which minimizes potential internal part binding caused by installation torque or machining variations of the cavity/cartridge. The pilot ratio of 3:1 ensures that the pilot pressure needed at port 3 to open the valve is proportional to the load pressure at port 1, providing precise control over the opening of the valve under varying load conditions. Moreover, its design specifications include a hex size of 7/8 in (22.2 mm) and an installation torque between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm), with a minimal weight of .20 lb (0.10 kg). This makes the CKCCPDN both compact and easy to install in various hydraulic setups without requiring extensive modifications or accommodations. In summary, the Sun Hydraulics CKCCPDN check valve is an efficient solution for systems needing robust load holding capabilities along with low leakage rates and resistance against contamination-induced damage, all while maintaining stability and reliability under varying operational pressures.

This valve is a pilot to open check valve. It has a sealed pilot, a Delrin seat, and is non-vented. It allows free flow from the valve (port 2) to the load (port 1) and blocks flow in the opposite direction. Pressure at the pilot (port 3) will open the valve from port 1 to port 2. Pilot pressure needed at port 3 to open the valve is directly proportional to the load pressure at port 1. Pressure at port 2 directly opposes pilot pressure.

  • This 3 port pilot-to-open check valve and 3 port counterbalance valves are physically interchangeable (i.e. same cavities, same flow path for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
  • Provides hose break protection, prevents loads from drifting and positively locks pressurized loads.
  • Sealed pilot for use in circuits where cross port leakage is undesirable.
  • Optional external porting out of the hex end of the cartridge is available for external piloting. In this configuration, port 3 is blocked. See Control options E, and P.
  • The Delrin seat is suitable for dirty, medium pressure systems that are not subjected to high flows or temperatures.
  • Extremely low leakage. If the load drifts due to the valve, the seat has probably been damaged by contamination and the valve should be replaced.
  • For models with manual load release control option, turn load release clockwise to release load.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
