The Sun Hydraulics CKCEVBV (CKCEVBV) is a sophisticated hydraulic valve designed for optimal performance in various applications requiring controlled flow and load holding. This pilot-to-open check valve features a sealed pilot and a Delrin seat, which enhances its suitability for medium pressure systems that may encounter dirt and contamination. The valve facilitates free flow from port 2 to the load at port 1 while blocking the reverse flow, ensuring efficient operation in hydraulic circuits. With a capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 2500 psi (175 bar), the CKCEVBV is engineered to handle significant hydraulic demands. The pilot ratio of 3:1 ensures that the pilot pressure required to open the valve is proportional to the load pressure at port 1, providing precise control over the hydraulic system. The valve's design incorporates Sun Hydraulics' floating style construction which minimizes internal parts binding, a common issue in valves due to installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. This model also offers hose break protection, preventing loads from drifting and securely locking pressurized loads, an essential feature for maintaining system integrity and safety. Its vented configuration allows it to be insensitive to pressure at port 2, making it versatile for various setups without affecting performance. For installation, the CKCEVBV requires a cavity type T11A and can be torqued between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm), with specific attention needed for accurate installation to prevent operational issues. Weighing only approximately 0.20 lb (0.10 kg), this valve is lightweight yet robust enough to support demanding applications effectively. In summary, Sun Hydraulics' CKCEVBV offers reliable performance with its advanced design tailored for systems requiring precise backflow prevention and load holding capabilities within dirty or medium-pressure environments.

This valve is a pilot to open check valve. It has a sealed pilot, a Delrin seat, and is vented. It allows free flow from the valve (port 2) to the load (port 1) and blocks flow in the opposite direction. Pressure at the external pilot port will open the valve from port 1 to port 2. Pilot pressure needed to open the valve is directly proportional to the load pressure at port 1. The valve is insensitive to pressure at port 2 because the spring chamber references the vent (port 3).

  • There is a positve seal between ports 2 and 3.
  • These valves should be considered service items only. New applications should use valves from the CV*V family.
  • This valve has a proportional pressure reducing characteristic that limits the pressure developed at port 1 to about 75% of the pressure at port 2.
  • Pilot pressure as low as 15 psi (1 bar) higher than the pressure at the vent can prevent the valve from closing.
  • Provides hose break protection, prevents loads from drifting and positively locks pressurized loads.
  • Sealed pilot for use in circuits where cross port leakage is undesirable.
  • Pilot-to-open check cartridges are locking valves, not motion control valves. For motion control applications, use counterbalance valves.
  • The Delrin seat is suitable for dirty, medium pressure systems that are not subjected to high flows or temperatures.
  • Extremely low leakage. If the load drifts due to the valve, the seat has probably been damaged by contamination and the valve should be replaced.
  • This 3 port pilot-to-open check valve is not physically interchangeable with other 3 port pilot-to-open check valves or counterbalance valves due to the different pilot/vent configuration.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
