The Sun Hydraulics CKCFSCN (CKCFSCN) is a pilot-to-open check valve designed for hydraulic applications, offering precise control over fluid flow in systems. This valve allows free flow from port 2 to the load port 1 while blocking flow in the opposite direction. It operates with a sealed pilot and a steel seat, ensuring minimal leakage and robust performance under high-pressure conditions. The external pilot pressure required to open the valve from port 1 to port 2 is directly proportional to the load pressure at port 1, making it highly effective in applications where pressure control is crucial. The CKCFSCN features a vented design, which references the spring chamber to vent port 3, rendering it insensitive to pressure at port 2. This configuration contributes to its stable operation across various pressures. The valve's design includes a positive seal between ports 2 and 3 and incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which minimizes potential internal parts binding due to installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. With a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and a capacity of up to 15 gpm (60 L/min), this valve is suitable for high-performance applications. It also provides hose break protection and prevents loads from drifting, thereby enhancing system safety and reliability. The CKCFSCN's pilot ratio of 3:1 ensures efficient operation, while its design ensures extremely low leakage rates, critical in maintaining system integrity and performance. In terms of maintenance, this model should be considered as a service item only; for new applications, valves from the CVV family are recommended. Its specific construction details include a T11A cavity requirement, a hex size of 7/8 inch (22.2 mm), and an installation torque range of 30-35 lbf-ft (41-47 Nm). The compact model weighs approximately .20 lb (0.10 kg), facilitating easy installation and handling in various configurations within hydraulic systems.

This valve is a pilot to open check valve. It has a sealed pilot, a steel seat, and is vented. It allows free flow from the valve (port 2) to the load (port 1) and blocks flow in the opposite direction. Pressure at the external pilot port will open the valve from port 1 to port 2. Pilot pressure needed to open the valve is directly proportional to the load pressure at port 1. The valve is insensitive to pressure at port 2 because the spring chamber references the vent (port 3).

  • There is a positve seal between ports 2 and 3.
  • These valves should be considered service items only. New applications should use valves from the CV*V family.
  • This valve has a proportional pressure reducing characteristic that limits the pressure developed at port 1 to about 75% of the pressure at port 2.
  • Pilot pressure as low as 15 psi (1 bar) higher than the pressure at the vent can prevent the valve from closing.
  • Provides hose break protection, prevents loads from drifting and positively locks pressurized loads.
  • Sealed pilot for use in circuits where cross port leakage is undesirable.
  • Pilot-to-open check cartridges are locking valves, not motion control valves. For motion control applications, use counterbalance valves.
  • Extremely low leakage. If the load drifts due to the valve, the seat has probably been damaged by contamination and the valve should be replaced.
  • This 3 port pilot-to-open check valve is not physically interchangeable with other 3 port pilot-to-open check valves or counterbalance valves due to the different pilot/vent configuration.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
