The Sun Hydraulics CKGFSEN (CKGFSEN) is a high-performance pilot-to-open check valve designed for hydraulic systems requiring reliable load-holding capabilities. This valve facilitates free flow from port 2 to the load port 1 while blocking flow in the opposite direction. The operation of the valve from port 1 to port 2 is controlled by pressure at an external pilot port, where the required pilot pressure is proportional to the load pressure at port 1. Its design features a sealed pilot which prevents cross-port leakage, making it suitable for applications where such leakage is undesirable. The CKGFSEN valve exhibits a proportional pressure reducing characteristic, ensuring that the pressure at port 1 is approximately 75% of that at port 2 under normal conditions. Additionally, it offers hose break protection and can lock pressurized loads positively, preventing load drifts effectively. The construction of this valve incorporates Sun's floating style design which minimizes potential internal parts binding caused by excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. With a maximum operating pressure capacity of up to 5000 psi (350 bar) and a flow capacity of up to 60 gpm (240 L/min), this valve is robust enough for demanding applications. It also features extremely low leakage rates, further enhancing its efficiency and reliability in maintaining system integrity. The CKGFSEN model\u2019s specific dimensions include a hex size of 1-1/4 inches (31.8 mm) and requires an installation torque between 150 -160 lbf ft (203 -217 Nm). Weighing approximately 1.10 lb (0.50 kg), it proves manageable in terms of installation and maintenance. This particular model by Sun Hydraulics demonstrates advanced engineering tailored for sophisticated hydraulic systems where precision and durability are paramount. It ensures high performance in various applications, notably those involving complex load-holding tasks where leakage and reliability are critical concerns.

This valve is a pilot to open check valve. It has a sealed pilot, a steel seat, and is vented. It allows free flow from the valve (port 2) to the load (port 1) and blocks flow in the opposite direction. Pressure at the external pilot port will open the valve from port 1 to port 2. Pilot pressure needed to open the valve is directly proportional to the load pressure at port 1. The valve is insensitive to pressure at port 2 because the spring chamber references the vent (port 3).

  • There is a positve seal between ports 2 and 3.
  • These valves should be considered service items only. New applications should use valves from the CV*V family.
  • This valve has a proportional pressure reducing characteristic that limits the pressure developed at port 1 to about 75% of the pressure at port 2.
  • Pilot pressure as low as 15 psi (1 bar) higher than the pressure at the vent can prevent the valve from closing.
  • Provides hose break protection, prevents loads from drifting and positively locks pressurized loads.
  • Sealed pilot for use in circuits where cross port leakage is undesirable.
  • Pilot-to-open check cartridges are locking valves, not motion control valves. For motion control applications, use counterbalance valves.
  • Extremely low leakage. If the load drifts due to the valve, the seat has probably been damaged by contamination and the valve should be replaced.
  • This 3 port pilot-to-open check valve is not physically interchangeable with other 3 port pilot-to-open check valves or counterbalance valves due to the different pilot/vent configuration.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
