The Sun Hydraulics CKICPEV (CKICPEV) is a highly efficient pilot-to-open check valve designed for hydraulic systems. This model features a sealed pilot to prevent cross-port leakage and a Delrin seat which makes it ideal for medium pressure systems that are susceptible to contamination, but not subjected to high flows or extreme temperatures. The valve allows free flow from port 2 to load port 1 while blocking the flow in the opposite direction, ensuring reliable operation and preventing load drift in hydraulic circuits. Equipped with a pilot ratio of 3:1, the CKICPEV requires pilot pressure at port 3 that is proportional to the load pressure at port 1 for operation. It has an extremely low leakage rate, which minimizes loss of hydraulic fluid and maintains system efficiency. However, if leakage occurs due to load drift, it typically indicates seat damage from contamination, suggesting replacement of the valve. This model also offers optional external porting out of the hex end of the cartridge for external piloting configurations where port 3 is blocked. The valve is designed with Sun's floating style construction to reduce internal part binding caused by excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. With a maximum operating pressure of 2500 psi and a capacity of up to 120 gpm, this valve is robust enough for various applications requiring hose break protection and positive locking of pressurized loads. This valve is a pilot to open check valve. It has a sealed pilot, a Delrin seat, and is non-vented. It allows free flow from the valve (port 2) to the load (port 1) and blocks flow in the opposite direction. Pressure at the pilot (port 3) will open the valve from port 1 to port 2. Pilot pressure needed at port 3 to open the valve is directly proportional to the load pressure at port 1. Pressure at port 2 directly opposes pilot pressure.

  • This 3 port pilot-to-open check valve and 3 port counterbalance valves are physically interchangeable (i.e. same cavities, same flow path for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
  • Provides hose break protection, prevents loads from drifting and positively locks pressurized loads.
  • Sealed pilot for use in circuits where cross port leakage is undesirable.
  • Optional external porting out of the hex end of the cartridge is available for external piloting. In this configuration, port 3 is blocked. See Control options E, and P.
