The Sun Hydraulics CKIFSDV (CKIFSDV) is a high-performance, pilot-to-open check valve designed for hydraulic applications requiring reliable load holding and hose break protection. This valve permits free flow from port 2 to port 1 while blocking flow in the opposite direction. It features a sealed pilot to prevent cross-port leakage and incorporates a steel seat for enhanced durability. The external pilot pressure at port 3 opens the valve by overcoming the load pressure at port 1, with the necessary pilot pressure being directly proportional to this load pressure. The CKIFSDV valve is specifically engineered to be insensitive to back pressure at port 2 due to its venting through port 3, which references the spring chamber, thus ensuring consistent operation regardless of pressure fluctuations at port 2. This design characteristic also includes a positive seal between ports 2 and 3, further enhancing its operational integrity. Notably, this valve boasts an extremely low leakage rate, contributing to system efficiency and safety by preventing unintended load drift. This model employs Sun Hydraulics' floating style construction which minimizes potential internal binding caused by excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining\u2014ensuring smooth and reliable operation. The CKIFSDV has a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and can handle up to 120 gpm (480 L/min), making it suitable for a wide range of demanding applications. It also features a robust design with an installation torque of 350-375 lbf ft (474-508 Nm) and is equipped with Viton seals for superior chemical resistance. Overall, the Sun Hydraulics CKIFSDV check valve is an essential component for systems requiring precise control over hydraulic flow direction under varying pressures while ensuring minimal leakage and maximum reliability in challenging industrial environments.

This valve is a pilot to open check valve. It has a sealed pilot, a steel seat, and is vented. It allows free flow from the valve (port 2) to the load (port 1) and blocks flow in the opposite direction. Pressure at the external pilot port will open the valve from port 1 to port 2. Pilot pressure needed to open the valve is directly proportional to the load pressure at port 1. The valve is insensitive to pressure at port 2 because the spring chamber references the vent (port 3).

  • There is a positve seal between ports 2 and 3.
  • These valves should be considered service items only. New applications should use valves from the CV*V family.
  • This valve has a proportional pressure reducing characteristic that limits the pressure developed at port 1 to about 75% of the pressure at port 2.
  • Pilot pressure as low as 15 psi (1 bar) higher than the pressure at the vent can prevent the valve from closing.
  • Provides hose break protection, prevents loads from drifting and positively locks pressurized loads.
  • Sealed pilot for use in circuits where cross port leakage is undesirable.
  • Pilot-to-open check cartridges are locking valves, not motion control valves. For motion control applications, use counterbalance valves.
  • Extremely low leakage. If the load drifts due to the valve, the seat has probably been damaged by contamination and the valve should be replaced.
  • This 3 port pilot-to-open check valve is not physically interchangeable with other 3 port pilot-to-open check valves or counterbalance valves due to the different pilot/vent configuration.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
