The Sun Hydraulics CNGCXAN (CNGCXAN) is a fixed orifice, non-pressure compensated flow control valve with a reverse flow check, designed for precise fluid control in hydraulic systems. This model allows the user to specify the orifice diameter, which is then set at the factory to ensure accurate performance according to specific requirements. The specified orifice size is permanently stamped on one of the cartridge's hex faces for easy identification. Constructed to fit within a T16A cavity and part of Sun Hydraulics' Series 3, the CNGCXAN supports a maximum flow capacity of 60 gpm (240 L/min) and can withstand operating pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The range of orifice diameters available spans from 0.016 to 0.218 inches (0.4 to 5.5 mm), allowing for customization based on the application's demands. It features a valve hex size of 1-1/4 inches (31.8 mm) and requires an installation torque between 150 - 160 lbf\u00b7ft (203 - 217 Nm). This valve incorporates Sun\u2019s floating style construction which minimizes internal parts binding, ensuring reliable operation even under variations in installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining inaccuracies. The model weighs approximately 1.10 lb (0.50 kg) and uses Viton seals for enhanced durability against harsh fluids. The CNGCXAN valve is particularly suitable for applications where corrosion resistance is crucial; it offers configurations with external stainless steel components (suffix AP) or external zinc-nickel plated components (suffix LH). This versatility makes it ideal for use across various corrosive environments without compromising functionality or life span.

This valve is a fixed orifice, non-pressure compensated flow control with a reverse flow check. The flow setting is specified by the user and is set at the factory.
- Customer must specify the orifice diameter.
- All 2-port flow control cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
- These are essentially check valves with bypass orifices. The flow path matches Sun's flow controls and can be used in any flow control manifolds. Valves with the opposite direction of flow can be found under check valves with bypass orifices.
- Because these valves are non-compensating devices, the fixed orifice size will regulate flow through the valve in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2.
- The customer specified orifice diameter is stamped on one of the cartridge's hex faces.
- Corrosion resistant cartridge valves are intended for use in corrosive environments and are identified by the model code suffix /AP for external stainless steel components, or /LH for external zinc-nickel plated components. See the CONFIGURATION section for all options. For further details, please see the Materials of Construction page located under TECH RESOURCES.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
