The Sun Hydraulics CNHEXEN (CNHEXEN) is a high-performance hydraulic valve designed for efficient flow management in hydraulic systems. This spring-biased closed, pilot-to-close check cartridge valve features a bypass orifice whose diameter can be specified by the customer within the allowable range of 0.016 to 0.252 inches (0.4 to 6.4 mm). It operates by allowing fluid to flow from port 1 to port 2 while restricting flow in the reverse direction, with pressure at port 2 directly opposing the pilot pressure. The CNHEXEN is notable for its nominal pilot ratio of 1.8:1, which ensures robust performance under varying pressures; a pressure of 1000 psi at the pilot port will close the valve against a pressure of 1800 psi at port 1. The valve's design includes hardened steel seats that offer excellent wear characteristics and tolerance to contamination, enhancing its durability and reliability in demanding applications. Constructed with Sun's floating style, the CNHEXEN minimizes internal parts binding that might occur due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining, ensuring consistent operation and ease of maintenance. This valve is designed for use within a T17A cavity and supports a maximum flow capacity of 80 gpm (320 L/min). Installation specifications include a hex size of 1-1/4 inches (31.8 mm) and an installation torque range of 150 to 160 lbf\u00b7ft (203 to 217 Nm). For sealing solutions, it utilizes Viton seals provided in kit number 990017006. Overall, the Sun Hydraulics CNHEXEN valve is engineered for precise control in hydraulic systems, offering stability and performance customization through its adjustable orifice feature, making it suitable for a variety of industrial applications where fluid control is critical.

This valve is a spring biased closed, pilot-to-close check cartridge with a bypass orifice. It incorporates a steel seat and is non-vented. The valve allows flow from port 1 to port 2 and restricts flow from port 2 to port 1. Pressure at the pilot (port 3) opposes pressure at port 1 at a ratio of 1.8:1. Pressure at port 2 directly opposes the pilot pressure. Note: The bypass orifice diameter is specified by the customer. See Technical Data below for the allowable orifice range.
- Features hardened steel seats for excellent wear characteristics and contamination tolerance.
- Nominal pilot ratio is 1.8:1. This means that a pressure of 1000 psi (70 bar) at the pilot port will close a valve against a pressure of 1800 psi (125 bar) at port 1. Any decay or loss of pilot pressure could allow the valve to open, even if it is a momentary decay or loss.
- Pressure at the port 2 area directly opposes pilot pressure.
- With equal pressures at all ports the valve is closed.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
