The Sun Hydraulics CVCEIBN (CVCEIBN) is a specialized hydraulic component designed for specific maintenance and repair applications. This valve, part of the older series preceding the current CVV design, features a unique configuration with four ports and a vented structure, utilizing a non-standard Sun cavity and port arrangement. Not intended for new system designs, the CVCEIBN is recommended solely as a replacement part in existing setups. This pilot-to-open check valve operates with a proportional pressure reducing characteristic which limits the pressure at port 1 to approximately 75% of that at port 2. It is capable of handling up to 15 gallons per minute (approximately 60 liters per minute), fitting into a T12A cavity with series designation 1. For manual operations, it includes an option for load release control that is adjusted by turning the control clockwise. In terms of functionality, this valve allows fluid flow in one direction while preventing backflow in the opposite direction unless pilot pressure is applied. This makes it suitable for applications where load holding or load release functionality is critical. The valve's design also accounts for potential corrosion issues if used with compressed air due to moisture content, emphasizing its optimal use with hydraulic fluids only. Additionally, users should be aware that this model includes sealed pilots which may show sluggish closure behavior due to trapped air, necessitating careful consideration during troubleshooting or maintenance when issues like drifting loads or blown nose seals occur.

These 4 port, vented, pilot-to-open check valves predate the current design, CV*V. They use a non-standard, modified Sun cavity and a non-standard port configuration. They are not to be used for new designs.

  • These valves should be considered service items only. New applications should use valves from the CV*V family.
  • This valve has a proportional pressure reducing characteristic that limits the pressure developed at port 1 to about 75% of the pressure at port 2.
  • For models with manual load release control option, turn load release clockwise to release load.
