The Sun Hydraulics CVCEIDN (CVCEIDN) is a specialized 4-port, vented, pilot-to-open check valve that is part of the older product line predating the current CVV series. Designed with a nonstandard Sun cavity and an unusual port configuration, this valve is primarily intended for replacement or maintenance purposes in existing systems rather than new designs. The CVCEIDN features a proportional pressure reducing characteristic, where the pressure at port 1 is limited to approximately 75% of the pressure at port 2. This valve also offers manual load release control options; turning the load release clockwise will release the load. The valve operates with a capacity of up to 15 gpm (60 L/min) and fits into a T12A cavity within Series 1. It's particularly noted for its application in hydraulic systems where it can prevent overpressure when used as a direct-acting valve or regulate pressure as a pilot-operated valve. However, it is not suited for controlling motion or overrunning loads due to its binary open/close nature without modulation capabilities. Additionally, this model has specific considerations regarding intensification on the rod side of cylinders and potential issues with corrosion when used with air instead of hydraulic fluid due to moisture sensitivity.

These 4 port, vented, pilot-to-open check valves predate the current design, CV*V. They use a non-standard, modified Sun cavity and a non-standard port configuration. They are not to be used for new designs.

  • These valves should be considered service items only. New applications should use valves from the CV*V family.
  • This valve has a proportional pressure reducing characteristic that limits the pressure developed at port 1 to about 75% of the pressure at port 2.
  • For models with manual load release control option, turn load release clockwise to release load.
