The Sun Hydraulics CVCEIEN (CVCEIEN) is a specialized 4-port, vented, pilot-to-open check valve designed for specific replacement or maintenance scenarios rather than new system designs. It features a non-standard Sun cavity (T12A) and an unconventional port configuration that does not align with the newer CVV valve series. This model is intended strictly as a service item. The CVCEIEN has a unique proportional pressure reducing characteristic that limits the pressure at port 1 to approximately 75% of the pressure at port 2, providing critical control in certain applications. With a capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min), this valve is suitable for moderate flow rates. It includes options for manual load release control, which requires turning the load release clockwise to release the load effectively. The valve operates under a pilot ratio that varies depending on the pressure at port 1, requiring different levels of pilot pressure at port 3 to open, based on specific operational pressures and conditions. This model uses dual springs in configurations with lower cracking pressures to ensure reliable closing and pilot piston return. However, it's important to note that these valves are not recommended for use with air or other non-hydraulic fluids due to potential corrosion issues from moisture in compressed air systems. The CVCEIEN is designed for hydraulic fluid environments only and should be selected with consideration for its specific operating characteristics and limitations.

These 4 port, vented, pilot-to-open check valves predate the current design, CV*V. They use a non-standard, modified Sun cavity and a non-standard port configuration. They are not to be used for new designs.

  • These valves should be considered service items only. New applications should use valves from the CV*V family.
  • This valve has a proportional pressure reducing characteristic that limits the pressure developed at port 1 to about 75% of the pressure at port 2.
  • For models with manual load release control option, turn load release clockwise to release load.
