The Sun Hydraulics CXCELCV (CXCELCV) is a specialized hydraulic check valve designed for high-pressure applications up to 5000 psi (350 bar). This model operates effectively within a T11A cavity and belongs to the Series 1 line, featuring a flow capacity of up to 15 gpm (60 L/min). The CXCELCV stands out due to its unique free-flow, side-to-nose cheater configuration which allows it to function as a standard 2-port check valve in a 3-port cavity, with the third port blocked. This design is particularly useful for adapting existing three-port cavities to incorporate check valve functionality without extensive modifications. One of the key attributes of the CXCELCV is its exceptionally low leakage rate, maintaining less than one drop per minute (0.07 cc/min), ensuring efficient and reliable operation in critical environments. The valve's robust construction includes Sun's floating style design which minimizes internal parts binding that could result from excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. For ease of installation, the valve has a hex size of 7/8 inches (22.2 mm) and requires an installation torque between 30 - 35 lbf.ft (41 - 47 Nm). Weighing just 0.20 lb (0.10 kg), it is both compact and lightweight, making it suitable for various applications where space and weight are considerations. Compatibility with Viton seal kits further enhances its versatility across different operating environments, particularly those prone to corrosive elements.

Free-flow, side-to-nose cheater check valves function as a standard 2-port check valve in a 3-port cavity with port 3 of the cartridge blocked off. These valves are useful in circuits where a check valve is required in an existing three port cavity.

  • Two-port check valves share the same cavity for a given frame size, however, pay close attention as flow paths may be in opposite directions.
  • Check valves offer extremely low leakage rates with a maximum leakage of less than 1 drop per minute (0,07 cc/min).
  • Will accept 5000 psi (350 bar) at ports 1 and 2.
  • Corrosion resistant cartridge valves are intended for use in corrosive environments and are identified by the model code suffix /AP or /LH (see CONFIGURATION section). For further details, please see the Materials of Construction page.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
