The Sun Hydraulics DBAMDCN (DBAMDCN) is a pilot-stage, directional, 2-position, 3-way manually operated cartridge valve designed primarily for pilot flow applications. This model features manual operation through Sun's TwistLock manual override mechanism, intended solely for intermittent and infrequent use. The valve is available in two spool configurations: normally open from port 1 to 2 and normally open from port 1 to 3, catering to different circuit requirements. Sun Hydraulics has engineered the DBAMDCN with a manual control assembly that boasts a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 10,000 cycles. The assembly can be replaced easily in the field without the need to remove the cartridge from its manifold or main stage element, enhancing maintenance efficiency. The valve offers multiple control options including momentary-twist control (option T), allowing temporary shifting of the valve by twisting the knob clockwise; detent-lock control (option L), which holds the valve in a mechanically detented position until manually reset; and dual-operation control (option D) that combines both functionalities. Constructed with a hardened spool and sleeve, the DBAMDCN ensures consistent operation, low spool leakage rates, and superior wear characteristics. It also incorporates Sun's floating style construction which minimizes internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. This model is designed for a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a flow capacity of .25 gpm (1 L/min). It features a compact design with a weight of just .40 lb (0.20 kg), making it suitable for various hydraulic systems requiring reliable manual control in pilot applications.

These pilot-stage, directional, 2-position, 3-way valves are manually operated cartridges and are available in two spool configurations; normally open 1 to 2 and normally open 1 to 3. These cartridges are designed for pilot flow applications. Manual operation is achieved via Sun's Twist/Lock manual override mechanism and is designed for intermittent (infrequent) use only.

  • This valve is designed for intermittent use such as a manual override. The manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of about 10,000 cycles.
  • The manual control assembly can be easily replaced in the field without removing the cartridge from the manifold or main stage element.
  • The momentary/twist control option "T" allows the operator to momentarily shift the valve by twisting the knob clockwise and releasing. Once released, the valve returns to its normal position.
  • The detent/lock control option "L" allows the operator to shift the valve into a mechanically detented position by twisting the knob counter-clockwise. This detented position will be maintained until the operator twists the knob clockwise and allows the valve to return to its normal position.
  • The dual-operation control option "D" allows the operator to either shift the valve momentarily by twisting the knob clockwise or shift it into a mechanically detented postion by twisting counter-clockwise.
  • The control on this valve is meant to be operated by a person's hand. The control should not be modified, for instance fastening a lever to the knob. Under no circumstances should the control be operated by other mechanical devices.
  • Hardened spool and sleeve provide consistent operation, low spool leakage rates and superior wear characteristics.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
