The Sun Hydraulics DBAPEHN (DBAPEHN) is a high-performance directional control valve designed for advanced fluid power applications. This pneumatically operated, spring-return cartridge valve offers versatility with two spool configurations: normally open from port 1 to port 2 and normally open from port 1 to port 3. It features a robust design with a hardened spool and sleeve that ensure consistent operation, low leakage rates, and superior wear characteristics, enhancing its reliability and lifespan in various operational conditions. The DBAPEHN valve operates within a pilot pressure range of 20 to 70 psi, calculated using the formula where the pilot pressure equals 20 psi plus the pressure at Port 1 divided by 100. This setup allows for flexible adaptation to different system pressures, ensuring efficient performance across a broad spectrum of applications. The maximum operating pressure for the valve reaches up to 5000 psi (350 bar), although the pilot port can only withstand up to 500 psi (35 bar). Each port of this valve can handle significant pressure levels, making it suitable for high-pressure tasks. Moreover, this model incorporates Sun Hydraulics' floating style construction which minimizes internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. This feature significantly enhances operational safety and reliability. The valve's compact design includes a T9A cavity and offers a flow capacity of .25 gpm (1 L/min), with maximum leakage at high pressures not exceeding ten drops per minute. With an installation torque requirement between 20 and 25 lbf ft (27 - 33 Nm) and equipped with Viton seals (part number: 990509006), the DBAPEHN ensures ease of maintenance and excellent sealing properties under diverse conditions. This model is an ideal choice for systems requiring precise control over direction and flow in hydraulic circuits.

These pilot-stage, directional, 2-position, 3-way valves are pneumatically operated, spring-return cartridges and are available in two spool configurations; normally open 1 to 2 and normally open 1 to 3.
- Different pilot control port options are available. See Option Selection for details.
- Hardened spool and sleeve provide consistent operation, low spool leakage rates and superior wear characteristics.
- The minimum pilot pressure required to operate the valve is determined by the following formula: pilot pressure = 20 psi + pressure @ Port 1 divided by 100. This results in a pilot pressure range of 20 to 70 psi. In metric; pilot pressure = 1,4 bar + pressure @ Port 1 divided by 100. This results in a pilot pressure of 1,4 to 5 bar.
- All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar) with the exception of the pilot port which accepts 500 psi (35 bar) max.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
