The Sun Hydraulics DBAPEHV (DBAPEHV) is a high-performance, pilot-stage, directional control valve designed for precise hydraulic system management. This 2-position, 3-way valve is pneumatically operated with a spring-return mechanism, ensuring reliable operation and quick response times. It offers two spool configurations: normally open from port 1 to port 2 and normally open from port 1 to port 3, catering to different circuit requirements. The DBAPEHV features a hardened spool and sleeve that enhance durability and maintain low spool leakage rates even under high-pressure conditions. This robust construction helps in achieving consistent operational performance and superior wear characteristics over time. The valve operates within a pilot pressure range of 20 to 70 psi or 1.4 to 5 bar, calculated through the formula provided in the specifications. Designed with Sun's floating style construction, the DBAPEHV minimizes internal parts binding which could result from excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. This design feature ensures smoother operation and extended service life. The valve is capable of handling a maximum operating pressure of up to 5000 psi (350 bar), with all ports except the pilot port which can accept up to 500 psi (35 bar). This model uses a T9A cavity and belongs to the P series, offering a flow capacity of .25 gpm (1 L/min). It has specific requirements for installation torque and utilizes Viton seals for enhanced chemical resistance and performance under varying temperatures. The compact design includes multiple control options for pilot ports, providing flexibility for integration into various hydraulic systems while maintaining precision control over fluid power operations.

These pilot-stage, directional, 2-position, 3-way valves are pneumatically operated, spring-return cartridges and are available in two spool configurations; normally open 1 to 2 and normally open 1 to 3.

  • Different pilot control port options are available. See Option Selection for details.
  • Hardened spool and sleeve provide consistent operation, low spool leakage rates and superior wear characteristics.
  • The minimum pilot pressure required to operate the valve is determined by the following formula: pilot pressure = 20 psi + pressure @ Port 1 divided by 100. This results in a pilot pressure range of 20 to 70 psi. In metric; pilot pressure = 1,4 bar + pressure @ Port 1 divided by 100. This results in a pilot pressure of 1,4 to 5 bar.
  • All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar) with the exception of the pilot port which accepts 500 psi (35 bar) max.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
