The Sun Hydraulics DBAPPCN (DBAPPCN) is a high-performance pneumatic valve designed for various fluid power applications. This directional, 2-position, 3-way valve operates as a spring-return cartridge and comes in two spool configurations: normally open from port 1 to port 2, and normally open from port 1 to port 3. The DBAPPCN features hardened spool and sleeve components that ensure consistent operation, minimal spool leakage, and superior wear resistance. The valve's pilot pressure requirements are calculated based on the pressure at Port 1, with a formula that results in a necessary pilot pressure range of 20 to 70 psi or approximately 1.4 to 5 bar. This model is engineered to withstand a maximum operating pressure of up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at all ports except the pilot control port, which can accept up to 500 psi (35 bar). The design incorporates Sun\u2019s floating style construction which minimizes internal part binding due to installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. For installation, the DBAPPCN has a hex size of 7/8 inches (22.2 mm) and requires an installation torque between 20 and 25 lbf ft (27 - 33 Nm). The valve's flow capacity is rated at .25 gpm (1 L/min), and it ensures low leakage rates with a maximum of about ten drops per minute at full pressure. This makes the DBAPPCN suitable for systems where precise fluid control and reliability are critical.

These pilot-stage, directional, 2-position, 3-way valves are pneumatically operated, spring-return cartridges and are available in two spool configurations; normally open 1 to 2 and normally open 1 to 3.

  • The minimum pilot pressure required to operate the valve is determined by the following formula: pilot pressure = 20 psi + pressure @ Port 1 divided by 100. This results in a pilot pressure range of 20 to 70 psi. In metric; pilot pressure = 1,4 bar + pressure @ Port 1 divided by 100. This results in a pilot pressure of 1,4 to 5 bar.
  • All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar) with the exception of the pilot port which accepts 500 psi (35 bar) max.
