The Sun Hydraulics DCCFXBV (DCCFXBV) is a versatile, two-position, 4-way directional cartridge valve with a spring-offset configuration. This model offers a range of nine different spool options to tailor its function to specific application needs. Each spool type affects the valve's capacity and performance, particularly in how it handles flow forces which are proportional to flow and pressure drop. These forces can impact the valve's shifting ability under high flow and pressure conditions. Designed for robustness, the DCCFXBV features hardened spool and sleeve components that ensure low leakage rates and superior wear characteristics. It operates effectively within a pressure capacity of up to 5000 psi (350 bar) for all ports, including pilot ports 5 and 6, which are positively sealed from the work ports to prevent cross-leakage. This model incorporates Sun\u2019s floating style construction, enhancing durability by minimizing internal part binding due to variations in installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining. The valve is suitable for flow capacities ranging from 7 to 10 gpm (28 to 40 L/min), requiring a minimum pilot pressure of 175 psi (12 bar) to shift. Its compact design includes a hex size of 7/8 inch (22.2 mm) and weighs approximately 0.45 lb (0.20 kg), facilitating easy installation with recommended torque settings between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm). The DCCFXBV is well-suited for applications requiring precise control over hydraulic flow with reliable performance under varying operational conditions, making it an ideal choice for advanced hydraulic systems needing dependable directional control valves.

Two-position, 4-way directional cartridges are spring-offset, 6-port directional valves that can be configured from a choice of 9 different spool options. The supply port is port 3 and all ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar). Capacity for these pilot-to-shift valves is dependent on the spool type specified.
- All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar), including the x and y pilot ports (port 5 and port 6).
- The reason for the different capacities, or performance limits, for the different spool configurations are flow forces. Flow forces are proportional to flow and pressure drop. Typically, they resist the opening of a passage. Spool configurations that open passages as they spring center are the most susceptible. If the flow forces due to the flow and pressure conditions exceed the centering spring force the valve may not shift completely. Higher flows may be used at lower pressures.
- Leakage listed in technical data is for each path.
- The pilot ports, 5 and 6, are positively sealed from the work ports.
- Hardened spool and sleeve provide consistent and low spool leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
