The Sun Hydraulics DCCFXCN (DCCFXCN) is a versatile two-position, 4-way directional cartridge valve designed for high-performance hydraulic systems. It features a spring-offset mechanism and can be configured with one of nine different spool options, each tailored to specific operational requirements. The valve operates with a maximum pressure capacity of 5000 psi (350 bar) across all ports, including the x and y pilot ports (port 5 and port 6), ensuring robust performance in demanding applications. This model incorporates Sun Hydraulics' floating style construction, which minimizes internal parts binding caused by excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. This design enhances the reliability and longevity of the valve under various operating conditions. The hardened spool and sleeve ensure low leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics, crucial for maintaining efficiency and preventing system contamination. The DCCFXCN supports flow rates between 7 to 10 gpm (28 to 40 L/min) and requires a minimum pilot pressure of 175 psi (12 bar) to shift the valve effectively. Leakage specifications indicate a maximum of 2 in³/min at 1000 psi (30 cc/min at 70 bar), per path, maintaining system integrity even under high-pressure drops. Additionally, the pilot volume displacement is minimal at .02 in³ (0,33 cc), contributing to the precise control over fluid dynamics within hydraulic circuits. Designed for easy installation, this model has a hex size of 7/8 in. (22.2 mm) and requires an installation torque between 30 - 35 lbf·ft (41 - 47 Nm). Weighing just .45 lb (0.20 kg), it is compact yet sturdy enough for both mobile and industrial applications where space and weight are at a premium but performance cannot be compromised. The use of Viton seals ensures compatibility with a broad range of fluids and enhances temperature tolerance.

Two-position, 4-way directional cartridges are spring-offset, 6-port directional valves that can be configured from a choice of 9 different spool options. The supply port is port 3 and all ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar). Capacity for these pilot-to-shift valves is dependent on the spool type specified.
- All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar), including the x and y pilot ports (port 5 and port 6).
- The reason for the different capacities, or performance limits, for the different spool configurations are flow forces. Flow forces are proportional to flow and pressure drop. Typically, they resist the opening of a passage. Spool configurations that open passages as they spring center are the most susceptible. If the flow forces due to the flow and pressure conditions exceed the centering spring force the valve may not shift completely. Higher flows may be used at lower pressures.
- Leakage listed in technical data is for each path.
- The pilot ports, 5 and 6, are positively sealed from the work ports.
- Hardened spool and sleeve provide consistent and low spool leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
