The Sun Hydraulics DCCFXTV (DCCFXTV) is a two-position, 4-way directional cartridge valve characterized by its spring-offset, 6-port configuration that supports a range of applications requiring reliable hydraulic flow control. Each of the ports, including the x and y pilot ports (ports 5 and 6), can withstand pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve's performance is influenced by the spool type selected, with nine different spool options available to suit various operational requirements. Flow forces, which vary with flow rate and pressure drop across the valve, play a crucial role in determining the capacity of these valves. These forces can impact the shifting of the valve, particularly in configurations where spools open passages as they return to center. Designed for robustness and reliability, the DCCFXTV incorporates Sun Hydraulics' floating style construction which helps minimize internal part binding that could result from excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. This design feature, along with hardened spool and sleeve components, ensures consistent performance with low leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics. Key technical specifications include a flow capacity range of 7-10 gpm (28-40 L/min), minimum pilot pressure required for valve shifting at 175 psi (12 bar), and maximum leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) being capped at 2 in\u00b3/min at 1000 psi (30 cc/min at 70 bar). The valve also has a hex size of 7/8 inches (22.2 mm) and requires an installation torque between 30-35 lbf ft (41-47 Nm). The model weighs approximately 0.45 lb (0.20 kg) and uses Viton seals for enhanced durability under varied environmental conditions.

Two-position, 4-way directional cartridges are spring-offset, 6-port directional valves that can be configured from a choice of 9 different spool options. The supply port is port 3 and all ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar). Capacity for these pilot-to-shift valves is dependent on the spool type specified.

  • All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar), including the x and y pilot ports (port 5 and port 6).
  • The reason for the different capacities, or performance limits, for the different spool configurations are flow forces. Flow forces are proportional to flow and pressure drop. Typically, they resist the opening of a passage. Spool configurations that open passages as they spring center are the most susceptible. If the flow forces due to the flow and pressure conditions exceed the centering spring force the valve may not shift completely. Higher flows may be used at lower pressures.
  • Leakage listed in technical data is for each path.
  • The pilot ports, 5 and 6, are positively sealed from the work ports.
  • Hardened spool and sleeve provide consistent and low spool leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
