The Sun Hydraulics DCDCXNV (DCDCXNV) is a high-capacity, three-position, 4-way directional cartridge valve, engineered to handle complex control scenarios in hydraulic systems. This spring-centered valve offers flexibility with multiple spool options that dictate its performance characteristics. It is designed with six ports, including pilot ports (port 5 and port 6), all capable of withstanding up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The supply port is designated as port 3. This model features a hardened spool and sleeve which ensure minimal leakage and superior durability under varied operational conditions. Its design incorporates Sun's floating style construction which helps prevent internal parts from binding due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. This construction feature significantly enhances the reliability and maintenance ease of the valve. The DCDCXNV supports flow rates ranging from 11 to 30 gpm (38 to 120 L/min), making it versatile for different hydraulic flow requirements. The minimum pilot pressure required to shift the valve is set at 150 psi (10.5 bar), ensuring responsive operation under varied pressure conditions. Maximum leakage at optimal operating viscosity does not exceed 2 in\u00b3/min per 1000 psi (30 cc/min per 70 bar), highlighting its efficiency in maintaining system integrity. With a compact design weighing only .80 lb (0.35 kg) and requiring an installation torque between 45 - 50 lbf\u00b7ft (61 - 68 Nm), this valve is easy to install and integrate into existing hydraulic setups without significant modifications. Its robust build and operational flexibility make the Sun Hydraulics DCDCXNV an essential component for sophisticated hydraulic systems requiring precise directional control and reliability.

Three-position, 4-way directional cartridges are spring-centered, 6-port directional valves that can be configured from a choice of spool options. The supply port is port 3 and all ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar). Capacity for these pilot-to-shift valves is dependent on the spool type specified.
- All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar), including the x and y pilot ports (port 5 and port 6).
- The reason for the different capacities, or performance limits, for the different spool configurations are flow forces. Flow forces are proportional to flow and pressure drop. Typically, they resist the opening of a passage. Spool configurations that open passages as they spring center are the most susceptible. If the flow forces due to the flow and pressure conditions exceed the centering spring force the valve may not shift completely. Higher flows may be used at lower pressures.
- Leakage listed in technical data is for each path.
- The pilot ports, 5 and 6, are positively sealed from the work ports.
- Hardened spool and sleeve provide consistent and low spool leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
