The Sun Hydraulics DKDPKBN (DKDPKBN) is a high-performance hydraulic valve designed for robust fluid control in demanding applications. This normally closed, balanced poppet switching element operates efficiently with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It features an integral pilot relief stage which allows the poppet to open only when the pilot pressure at port 3 surpasses a pre-set threshold. The unique balanced construction of the valve ensures predictable switching and stable operation under varying pressures at both port 1 and port 2. The DKDPKBN can handle up to 15 gpm (60 L/min) of flow capacity, making it suitable for a variety of hydraulic systems. The minimum pilot pressure required to shift the valve is 400 psi (28 bar), ensuring precise control over the fluid flow. This valve also features low leakage rates, typically less than 10 drops/min at 5000 psi (0.7 cc/min at 350 bar), between ports 1 and 2, which minimizes fluid loss and enhances system efficiency. Constructed with Sun's floating style design, the DKDPKBN minimizes potential internal parts binding that could result from excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. This design feature contributes to the valve's reliability and longevity in industrial settings. Additionally, all ports on this model are capable of accepting pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar), with ports being fully sealed to prevent cross-contamination between them. For installation, this model requires a valve hex size of 7/8 inches (22.2 mm) and an installation torque between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm). The adjustment screw internal hex size is set at 5/32 inches (4 mm), while the locknut hex size is at 9/16 inches (15 mm) with a tightening torque specification of between 80 -90 lbf in. (9 -10 Nm). These specifications ensure secure mounting and operational adjustments as needed for specific system requirements.

This is a normally closed, balanced poppet, switching element. When pilot pressure is applied to port 3, the poppet remains closed until the pilot pressure reaches the setting established by the integral pilot relief stage, at which point the poppet shifts to the open position.
- Unique balanced construction provides predictable switching with 5000 psi (350 bar) at both port 1 and port 2. When the remote pressure signal at port 3 exceeds the internal valve setting, the valve shifts to the open position.
- Any backpressure at the drain port is directly additive to the valve setting.
- Valve will reseat when the pilot pressure falls to 85% of the cracking value.
- Port 1 and port 2 are fully sealed from port 3 and port 4. Ports 3 and 4 are positively sealed.
- Leakage rate between port 1 and port 2 is very low, typically less than 10 drops/min. at 5000 psi (0,7 cc/min at 350 bar).
- All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar).
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
