The Sun Hydraulics DKDPKBV (DKDPKBV) is a high-performance hydraulic valve designed for precise control in fluid power applications. This normally closed, balanced poppet switching element operates effectively with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), suitable for both port 1 and port 2. The valve features an integral pilot relief stage that sets the pilot pressure required to shift the valve, maintaining stability and predictability in operation. The DKDPKBV is engineered to ensure minimal leakage, with a rate typically less than 10 drops/min at 5000 psi (0.7 cc/min at 350 bar) between port 1 and port 2. It boasts a unique balanced construction that prevents unexpected shifting of the valve due to variations in pressure at different ports. The valve's design includes Sun's floating style construction which minimizes internal part binding, a common issue caused by excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. This model requires a minimum pilot pressure of 400 psi (28 bar) to shift and can handle a flow capacity up to 15 gpm (60 L/min). It features robust sealing between ports, ensuring that ports 1 and 2 are fully isolated from ports 3 and 4, which are also positively sealed against external contaminants. The DKDPKBV accommodates a control pilot flow as specified in its performance data, supporting versatile application across various hydraulic systems. Designed for durability and reliability, the DKDPKBV includes an adjustment screw internal hex size of 5/32 in. (4 mm), locknut hex size of 9/16 in. (15 mm), and recommended installation torque settings ranging from 30-35 lbf\u00b7ft (41-47 Nm). Additionally, any backpressure at the drain port directly adds to the valve setting, enhancing its operational efficiency under varying system pressures. This versatile component is essential for applications requiring reliable hydraulic flow control with high-pressure capability and precise leakage management.

This is a normally closed, balanced poppet, switching element. When pilot pressure is applied to port 3, the poppet remains closed until the pilot pressure reaches the setting established by the integral pilot relief stage, at which point the poppet shifts to the open position.
- Unique balanced construction provides predictable switching with 5000 psi (350 bar) at both port 1 and port 2. When the remote pressure signal at port 3 exceeds the internal valve setting, the valve shifts to the open position.
- Any backpressure at the drain port is directly additive to the valve setting.
- Valve will reseat when the pilot pressure falls to 85% of the cracking value.
- Port 1 and port 2 are fully sealed from port 3 and port 4. Ports 3 and 4 are positively sealed.
- Leakage rate between port 1 and port 2 is very low, typically less than 10 drops/min. at 5000 psi (0,7 cc/min at 350 bar).
- All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar).
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
