The Sun Hydraulics DKDPLAV (DKDPLAV) is a high-performance hydraulic valve designed for advanced fluid power applications. This normally closed, balanced poppet switching element operates efficiently under a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It features a unique construction that ensures predictable switching and minimal leakage, typically less than 10 drops/min at 5000 psi. The valve's operation is contingent on pilot pressure applied to port 3; it remains closed until this pressure surpasses a pre-set threshold determined by the integral pilot relief stage, causing the poppet to shift to an open position. The DKDPLAV valve is engineered with Sun's floating style construction which aids in preventing internal parts from binding due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. This design enhances the reliability and longevity of the valve in demanding operational conditions. Each of the ports can withstand pressures up to 5000 psi, with ports 1 and 2 being fully sealed from ports 3 and 4, which are also positively sealed against each other. For installation, the valve utilizes a T21A cavity and requires an installation torque of between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm). It offers a flow capacity of up to 15 gpm (60 L/min), making it suitable for various hydraulic systems requiring precise control over fluid handling and pressure management. The minimum pilot pressure required to shift the valve is set at 400 psi (28 bar), ensuring robust performance even under varying environmental conditions. The compact design includes a hex size adjustment feature for easy maintenance and adjustment in field applications.

This is a normally closed, balanced poppet, switching element. When pilot pressure is applied to port 3, the poppet remains closed until the pilot pressure reaches the setting established by the integral pilot relief stage, at which point the poppet shifts to the open position.

  • Unique balanced construction provides predictable switching with 5000 psi (350 bar) at both port 1 and port 2. When the remote pressure signal at port 3 exceeds the internal valve setting, the valve shifts to the open position.
  • Any backpressure at the drain port is directly additive to the valve setting.
  • Valve will reseat when the pilot pressure falls to 85% of the cracking value.
  • Port 1 and port 2 are fully sealed from port 3 and port 4. Ports 3 and 4 are positively sealed.
  • Leakage rate between port 1 and port 2 is very low, typically less than 10 drops/min. at 5000 psi (0,7 cc/min at 350 bar).
  • All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar).
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
