The Sun Hydraulics DKJPLAN (DKJPLAN) is a high-performance hydraulic valve designed for demanding applications requiring precise control and reliability. This normally closed, balanced poppet switching element operates uniquely by maintaining closure until pilot pressure at port 3 meets a pre-set threshold based on the integral pilot relief stage, after which it shifts to an open position. It is engineered to handle up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at ports 1 and 2, ensuring robust performance even under high-pressure conditions. The DKJPLAN features a floating style construction that minimizes the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining, enhancing its operational reliability and lifespan. Each port can withstand pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar), with port 1 and port 2 fully sealed from ports 3 and 4, which are also positively sealed against each other. This design reduces leakage between ports 1 and 2 to less than 10 drops/min at maximum pressure, demonstrating its efficiency in fluid control. Additional specifications include a maximum flow capacity of 120 gpm (480 L/min), with a minimum pilot pressure requirement of 300 psi (20 bar) for valve shifting. The valve's hex size is standardized at 1-5/8 inches (41.3 mm), with an installation torque range of between 350 -375 lbf ft (474 -508 Nm). For maintenance or adjustments, the internal hex size for the adjustment screw is set at 5/32 inches (4 mm), while the locknut measures at a hex size of 9/16 inches (15 mm) with a torque specification of between 80 -90 lbf in. (9 -10 Nm). The seal kit available for this model uses Viton components, ensuring high durability and compatibility with various hydraulic fluids.

This is a normally closed, balanced poppet, switching element. When pilot pressure is applied to port 3, the poppet remains closed until the pilot pressure reaches the setting established by the integral pilot relief stage, at which point the poppet shifts to the open position.

  • Unique balanced construction provides predictable switching with 5000 psi (350 bar) at both port 1 and port 2. When the remote pressure signal at port 3 exceeds the internal valve setting, the valve shifts to the open position.
  • Any backpressure at the drain port is directly additive to the valve setting.
  • Valve will reseat when the pilot pressure falls to 85% of the cracking value.
  • Port 1 and port 2 are fully sealed from port 3 and port 4. Ports 3 and 4 are positively sealed.
  • Leakage rate between port 1 and port 2 is very low, typically less than 10 drops/min. at 5000 psi (0,7 cc/min at 350 bar).
  • All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar).
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
