The Sun Hydraulics DKJPLAV (DKJPLAV) is a high-performance hydraulic valve designed for precise control in fluid power applications. This model features a normally closed, balanced poppet switching mechanism that operates under a pilot pressure system. The valve remains closed until the pilot pressure at port 3 reaches a preset level determined by an integral pilot relief stage, prompting the poppet to shift to an open position. This allows for controlled, predictable switching operations even under high pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at both port 1 and port 2. The DKJPLAV is engineered to ensure minimal leakage between ports 1 and 2, with a typical rate of less than 10 drops per minute at maximum pressure. This efficiency is crucial in maintaining system integrity and performance. Additionally, the valve's design incorporates Sun's floating style construction which minimizes the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. The valve also boasts a robust capacity of up to 120 gpm (480 L/min), with all ports capable of accepting pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). It requires a minimum pilot pressure of 300 psi (20 bar) to shift, ensuring reliable operation under varied conditions. The design ensures that any backpressure at the drain port directly adds to the valve setting, enhancing control accuracy. For installation, the DKJPLAV uses a hex size of 1-5/8 inches (41.3 mm) and requires an installation torque between 350 - 375 lbf\u00b7ft (474 - 508 Nm). The adjustment screw and locknut are specifically sized for ease of maintenance and adjustment, ensuring long-term reliability and performance in demanding hydraulic systems.

This is a normally closed, balanced poppet, switching element. When pilot pressure is applied to port 3, the poppet remains closed until the pilot pressure reaches the setting established by the integral pilot relief stage, at which point the poppet shifts to the open position.
- Unique balanced construction provides predictable switching with 5000 psi (350 bar) at both port 1 and port 2. When the remote pressure signal at port 3 exceeds the internal valve setting, the valve shifts to the open position.
- Any backpressure at the drain port is directly additive to the valve setting.
- Valve will reseat when the pilot pressure falls to 85% of the cracking value.
- Port 1 and port 2 are fully sealed from port 3 and port 4. Ports 3 and 4 are positively sealed.
- Leakage rate between port 1 and port 2 is very low, typically less than 10 drops/min. at 5000 psi (0,7 cc/min at 350 bar).
- All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar).
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
