The Sun Hydraulics DLDAZHN924 (DLDAZHN924) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated 2-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for precise hydraulic fluid direction control. This direct-acting, balanced spool valve can be configured as normally open or normally closed based on application needs. It features a position switch that confirms the valve's status, enhancing operational accuracy and safety. The unit is factory-sealed and maintenance-free, requiring no field servicing which ensures reliability and durability under industrial conditions. The DLDAZHN924 operates without minimum hydraulic pressure, making it versatile for various fluid power applications. Its wet armature design allows the working fluid to surround the armature, which is crucial for applications where the coil may be energized for extended periods. However, users should note that certain fluids like water-glycol mixtures might degrade at high temperatures influenced by prolonged coil energization. This model offers a variety of coil termination and voltage options to suit different operating environments, including configurations with surge protection. The unique magnetic design of the solenoid in this valve ensures high efficiency and effective spool actuating force per watt expended, leading to consistent and reliable valve shifting. Additionally, Sun Hydraulics' floating style construction minimizes internal parts binding which could occur due to excessive installation torque or cavity-cartridge machining variations. Technical specifications include a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), flow capacity up to 12 gpm (45 L/min), and typical response times around 50 ms. The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for robust performance even under demanding conditions. For installation, specific tools such as a crow's foot wrench are recommended due to the position switch configuration affecting socket wrench compatibility.

This solenoid-operated 2-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve. The valve is available in either a normally open or normally closed configuration.

The position switch provides confirmation that the valve is in the spring biased position.

  • A coil must be ordered with this cartridge. This cartridge is supplied as a sealed, factory set unit and is not field serviceable. If the assembly requires changes or service it needs to be returned to the factory. Any tampering will violate the product warranty.
  • Position switch is CE approved.
  • When torquing this cartridge into its cavity, a crow's foot wrench or similar will be required since the position switch precludes the use of a deep socket wrench.
  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
  • The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
