The Sun Hydraulics DMDADAV248 (DMDADAV248) is a high-performance solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge valve. This direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve is designed to be fatigue rated for demanding applications up to 5000 psi or 350 bar. It features a unique design where Spools B and R are closed during the transition between their two positions, enhancing performance by providing faster and more consistent response times, especially suitable for pilot controls where capacity is less critical. This valve operates without requiring a minimum hydraulic pressure, making it highly versatile in various hydraulic systems. The manual override option included in models with D or L control uses a detent mechanism intended for temporary actuation only, with a mechanical life expectancy of about 7,000 cycles. Additionally, the valve's cartridges that come with EPDM seals are specifically designed for use with phosphate ester fluids; however, they must not be exposed to petroleum-based fluids as this could damage the seals.
