The Sun Hydraulics DMDADPV2E12V (DMDADPV2E12V) is a high-performance solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for precise hydraulic control in various applications. This direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve features a robust design with a fatigue rating of 5000 psi (350 bar), making it suitable for demanding environments. The valve offers closed transitions between Spools B and R, enhancing performance by ensuring faster and more consistent response times, particularly effective in pilot control setups where flow capacity is less critical. Engineered for durability and reliability, the DMDADPV2E12V operates without requiring a minimum hydraulic pressure, facilitating versatile deployment in hydraulic systems. It includes manual override options with a detent mechanism designed for temporary actuation. The manual control assembly boasts a mechanical life expectancy of about 7,000 cycles, underlining its longevity in operational terms. The valve's construction incorporates EPDM seals specifically for use with phosphate ester fluids, cautioning against exposure to petroleum-based substances which could compromise seal integrity. Additionally, its wet armature design allows the working fluid to surround the armature which can be significant when considering fluid characteristics under prolonged coil energization\u2014important for maintaining operational integrity over time. Interchangeability of coils with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products adds flexibility to system design, allowing for easy maintenance and replacements. The floating style construction minimizes internal binding risks caused by installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations, ensuring smooth operation and extended service life. With capabilities like a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), flow capacity up to 12 gpm (45 L/min), and rapid response times typically around 50 ms, this valve stands out as an efficient solution for directional control in hydraulic systems.

This solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • Spools B and R are closed in the transition between their two positions. This results in a higher performance limit at the expense of lower capacity. When used as pilot controls, where capacity is not a factor, the closed transition will provide faster and more consistent response times.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
