The Sun Hydraulics DMDALBV71299 (DMDALBV71299) is a high-performance solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge valve featuring a direct-acting, balanced spool design. This valve is specifically engineered to handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and offers a flow capacity of up to 12 gpm (45 L/min). It is particularly suited for applications requiring precise control with robust response capabilities, including various hydraulic systems in mobile and industrial settings. The DMDALBV71299 incorporates advanced features such as closed transitions between spools B and R, which enhance performance by ensuring faster and more consistent response times during operation. This makes the valve an ideal choice for pilot control applications where capacity is less critical. Additionally, the model is equipped with manual override options (D, L, T controls), providing temporary actuation with a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles. This valve model also benefits from a wet armature design allowing the working fluid to surround the armature, essential for maintaining performance when the coil is energized over extended periods. However, it's important to note that certain fluids like water-glycol mixtures may degrade under prolonged exposure to heat. The valve's compatibility with EPDM seals makes it suitable for systems using phosphate ester fluids but unsuitable for petroleum-based fluids which could damage these seals. For enhanced durability and ease of installation, the DMDALBV71299 features Sun's floating style construction which minimizes internal parts binding caused by excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. With interchangeable coils across other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and flexible mounting options on the tube in either direction, this valve offers versatility and reliability in demanding operational conditions.

This solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • Spools B and R are closed in the transition between their two positions. This results in a higher performance limit at the expense of lower capacity. When used as pilot controls, where capacity is not a factor, the closed transition will provide faster and more consistent response times.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
