The Sun Hydraulics DMDALPV736 (DMDALPV736) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge valve that features a balanced spool directional control. Engineered for reliability and efficiency, this valve operates without the need for minimum hydraulic pressure, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. The DMDALPV736 is designed to handle maximum operating pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a flow capacity of 12 gpm (45 L/min). It boasts rapid response times typically around 50 ms and maintains tight control over leakage with maximum valve leakage specified at 5 in\u00b3/min at 3000 psi. This model incorporates advanced design features such as closed transitions between spool positions to enhance performance by ensuring faster and more consistent response times which are crucial in pilot control applications. The wet armature design of the solenoid assembly helps in heat management but requires consideration of fluid type as heat can affect fluid properties over extended periods. Specifically configured EPDM seals are used for compatibility with phosphate ester fluids, avoiding damage from petroleum-based substances. Further enhancing its utility and durability, the DMDALPV736 includes interchangeable coils compatible with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and supports flexible mounting orientations. Its construction utilizes Sun\u2019s floating style which minimizes internal part binding due to installation variances or excessive torque, ensuring smoother operation and longer life. This model also features manual override options with a detent mechanism designed primarily for temporary actuation. With these capabilities combined into a robust design, the DMDALPV736 offers an effective solution for various hydraulic control systems requiring precise directional control under varying pressure conditions without compromise on reliability or performance.

This solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • Spools B and R are closed in the transition between their two positions. This results in a higher performance limit at the expense of lower capacity. When used as pilot controls, where capacity is not a factor, the closed transition will provide faster and more consistent response times.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
