The Sun Hydraulics DMDAMRV636 (DMDAMRV636) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for robust hydraulic system applications. This direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve features a solenoid tube assembly that is fatigue rated for up to 5000 psi (350 bar), ensuring reliability and durability under high-pressure conditions. The valve's design includes closed transitions between Spools B and R, enhancing performance by providing faster and more consistent response times especially suitable for pilot control applications where capacity is less critical. The DMDAMRV636 operates without the need for a minimum hydraulic pressure, facilitating its use in a variety of fluid power systems. It incorporates manual override options with the D or L control, where the detent mechanism is specifically designed for temporary actuation. With a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles for the manual control assembly, this model promises longevity and resilience in operation. This model uses EPDM seals configured for compatibility with phosphate ester fluids; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids should be avoided as it can damage the seals. The wet armature design of this valve allows the working fluid to surround the armature which helps in heat management but requires consideration of fluid characteristics as prolonged exposure to heat can degrade certain types of fluids. Interchangeability of coils with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products adds versatility to this component, allowing easy maintenance and replacement. Furthermore, Sun Hydraulics' floating style construction minimizes internal part binding due to installation torque or machining variations of cavity/cartridge. With additional specifications like a maximum flow capacity of 12 gpm (45 L/min) and rapid response times typical at 50 ms, the DMDAMRV636 is an effective solution for advanced hydraulic system requirements where precision and reliability are paramount.

This solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • Spools B and R are closed in the transition between their two positions. This results in a higher performance limit at the expense of lower capacity. When used as pilot controls, where capacity is not a factor, the closed transition will provide faster and more consistent response times.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
