The Sun Hydraulics DMDATAV628 (DMDATAV628) is a high-performance solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge valve. This direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve is specifically designed to handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a flow capacity of up to 12 gpm (45 L/min). The valve features closed transitions between Spools B and R, enhancing its performance by ensuring faster and more consistent response times, particularly useful in pilot control applications where capacity is less critical. The DMDATAV628 operates without requiring a minimum hydraulic pressure, making it versatile for various applications. It includes manual override options with the D or L control featuring a detent mechanism designed for temporary actuation. The mechanical life expectancy of these manual control assemblies is approximately 7,000 cycles. Notably, this model uses EPDM seals suitable for systems with phosphate ester fluids while avoiding exposure to petroleum-based fluids which could damage the seals. Additionally, the valve incorporates a wet armature design whereby the working fluid surrounds the armature. This design consideration is crucial as prolonged energization of the coil can lead to higher fluid temperatures which may degrade certain types of hydraulic fluids. For maintenance and compatibility across systems, its coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. This model also benefits from Sun\u2019s floating style construction that minimizes internal parts binding caused by excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. With features like a typical response time of 50 ms and maximum valve leakage at 3000 psi rated at only 5 in\u00b3/min., the DMDATAV628 combines robust construction with reliable performance suitable for demanding hydraulic applications.

This solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • Spools B and R are closed in the transition between their two positions. This results in a higher performance limit at the expense of lower capacity. When used as pilot controls, where capacity is not a factor, the closed transition will provide faster and more consistent response times.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
