The Sun Hydraulics DMDATBV736 (DMDATBV736) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for precise control in hydraulic systems. This direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve features a robust design with a fatigue rating of 5000 psi (350 bar), making it suitable for demanding applications. The valve's spools B and R are closed during the transition between two positions, enhancing performance by providing faster and more consistent response times, especially useful in pilot control applications where capacity is less critical. The DMDATBV736 operates without requiring a minimum hydraulic pressure, thereby ensuring reliable performance under varied conditions. It incorporates manual override options with detent mechanisms designed for temporary actuation; these are available in models equipped with D or L control. The manual control assembly is built to withstand approximately 7,000 cycles, indicating significant durability. This model uses EPDM seals specifically for systems containing phosphate ester fluids; however, these seals must avoid exposure to petroleum-based substances to prevent damage. The wet armature design of the valve means that the working fluid surrounds the armature which could be exposed to heat if the coil remains energized over long periods - an important consideration when using certain fluids like water-glycol mixtures. Sun Hydraulics has engineered this valve with interchangeable coils that fit other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. Additionally, it features Sun's floating style construction which minimizes internal part binding due to installation torque or cavity-cartridge machining variations. With specifications such as a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), flow capacity up to 12 gpm (45 L/min), and rapid typical response time of 50 ms, the DMDATBV736 is an adaptable solution suited for various hydraulic applications requiring precise directional control and reliability.

This solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • Spools B and R are closed in the transition between their two positions. This results in a higher performance limit at the expense of lower capacity. When used as pilot controls, where capacity is not a factor, the closed transition will provide faster and more consistent response times.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
