The Sun Hydraulics DMDAXNV736 (DMDAXNV736) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for direct acting and balanced spool directional control. This valve features a robust construction that makes it suitable for applications requiring precise control with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and a flow capacity of up to 12 gpm (45 L/min). The DMDAXNV736 is particularly noted for its rapid and consistent response times due to the closed transition between Spools B and R, enhancing performance where capacity is less critical. Equipped with EPDM seals, the DMDAXNV736 is ideal for systems using phosphate ester fluids, while its wet armature design helps in cooling but requires attention when used with fluids prone to varnish formation at high temperatures. The model's interchangeable coils, which are compatible with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products, offer flexibility in mounting orientations. Additionally, this valve incorporates Sun\u2019s floating style construction to minimize internal parts binding\u2014a common issue in environments with varying installation torque and machining variations. Featuring manual override options with a detent mechanism designed for temporary actuation and an expected mechanical life of around 7,000 cycles, the DMDAXNV736 provides reliable manual control when needed. Its quick response time of approximately 50 ms and low maximum valve leakage rate at high pressures make it an efficient choice for dynamic systems requiring frequent switching, capable of handling up to 15,000 cycles per hour. This model's compact design includes a .75 inch (19 mm) solenoid tube diameter and weighs just .60 lb (0.30 kg), ensuring easy installation and maintenance while maintaining durability and reliability in demanding applications.

This solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • Spools B and R are closed in the transition between their two positions. This results in a higher performance limit at the expense of lower capacity. When used as pilot controls, where capacity is not a factor, the closed transition will provide faster and more consistent response times.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
