The Sun Hydraulics DMDAXPNHN24AA (DMDAXPNHN24AA) is a high-performance solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for robust and efficient hydraulic system management. This direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve features a fatigue-rated solenoid tube assembly suitable for up to 5000 psi (350 bar) service, ensuring reliable operation under demanding conditions. The valve's design incorporates closed transitions between Spools B and R, optimizing performance by facilitating faster and more consistent response times, particularly beneficial in pilot control applications where capacity is less critical. The DMDAXPNHN24AA operates without requiring a minimum hydraulic pressure, enhancing its versatility in various system configurations. It includes options for manual override through the D or L control, with a detent mechanism designed for temporary actuation. The mechanical life expectancy of these manual control assemblies is around 7,000 cycles. For systems using phosphate ester fluids, cartridges equipped with EPDM seals are recommended; however, these seals must avoid exposure to petroleum-based fluids which could cause damage. This model employs a wet armature design where the working fluid surrounds the armature exposed to coil-generated heat\u2014a point to consider when using fluids like water-glycol mixtures that may degrade under prolonged high temperatures. Additionally, the valve's coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. Sun Hydraulics has also integrated floating style construction into this model to minimize internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. This feature helps maintain consistent performance and extends the product's operational lifespan. The DMDAXPNHN24AA offers a flow capacity of up to 12 gpm (45 L/min) and supports rapid switching frequencies up to 15,000 cycles/hr, making it an efficient solution for dynamic hydraulic systems requiring precise control.

This solenoid-operated 3-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • Spools B and R are closed in the transition between their two positions. This results in a higher performance limit at the expense of lower capacity. When used as pilot controls, where capacity is not a factor, the closed transition will provide faster and more consistent response times.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
