The Sun Hydraulics DNCADAV536 (DNCADAV536) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for precise hydraulic fluid direction control in various applications. This direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve is notable for its closed transition between positions, which minimizes the loss of oil during shifting\u2014a critical feature for maintaining efficiency in pilot control circuits. With a configuration that treats port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank, the DNCADAV536 ensures optimal performance under specified conditions while discouraging reverse flow to preserve system integrity. The valve's solenoid tube assembly is robustly built to withstand up to 5000 psi (350 bar), making it suitable for high-pressure applications. Additionally, it operates without requiring a minimum hydraulic pressure, enhancing its versatility across different hydraulic systems. This model incorporates EPDM seals specifically designed for use with phosphate ester fluids; however, these seals are susceptible to damage when exposed to petroleum-based substances. Its wet armature design allows the working fluid to surround the armature, which could be a consideration if the coil remains energized over extended periods due to potential thermal effects on certain fluids. Sun Hydraulics has equipped the DNCADAV536 with various coil termination and voltage options, including designs with surge protection. The coils used are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be oriented in either direction upon mounting. Connector options for these coils can meet environmental protection standards up to IP69K. The valve\u2019s construction incorporates Sun's floating style design which helps prevent internal parts from binding due to installation torque or machining variations in the cavity/cartridge setup. This model is designed for reliability and durability in demanding environments where precise fluid control and valve performance are paramount.

This solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve. The transition between positions is closed. The closed transition greatly reduces the loss of oil when shifting which can be of particular importance in pilot control circuits.
- Valve capacity is based on port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank. Although reverse flow is possible, the same performance cannot be guaranteed and is not recommended.
- The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
- This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
- A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
- The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
- Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
