The Sun Hydraulics DNCADCV724N (DNCADCV724N) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated directional valve, designed for precise hydraulic fluid control in various applications. This 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve features a direct-acting, balanced spool with a closed transition between positions, minimizing oil loss during shifting which is crucial for maintaining efficiency in pilot control circuits. The valve operates efficiently with port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank outlet, although it does allow reverse flow under certain conditions. With an impressive capacity of up to 8 gallons per minute (30 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), this valve is engineered for robust performance. Its rapid response time of approximately 50 milliseconds ensures timely operations, critical in systems requiring fast actuation. The DNCADCV724N incorporates a wet armature design; the working fluid surrounds the armature which can be exposed to heat if the coil remains energized over extended periods. This design consideration is vital when using water-glycol mixtures that may degrade at higher temperatures. This model offers versatile coil termination options and voltage configurations, including options with surge protection to suit different operational environments and requirements. It also features interchangeable coils compatible with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products, enhancing its adaptability across different setups. The unique magnetic design of the solenoid ensures high efficiency and reliable valve shifting by maximizing spool actuating force per watt expended. Additional resilience against environmental factors is provided through optional weatherized coils and kits for enhanced protection. The construction incorporates Sun's floating style to prevent internal parts binding due to installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining, ensuring longevity and reliability of the unit in demanding applications.

This solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve. The transition between positions is closed. The closed transition greatly reduces the loss of oil when shifting which can be of particular importance in pilot control circuits.

  • Valve capacity is based on port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank. Although reverse flow is possible, the same performance cannot be guaranteed and is not recommended.
  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
  • The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
