The Sun Hydraulics DNCADJV299 (DNCADJV299) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for precise control in hydraulic systems. This direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve ensures a closed transition between positions, which is crucial for minimizing oil loss during shifting\u2014a significant advantage in pilot control circuits. The valve is engineered to accommodate a flow capacity of 8 gpm/30 L/min with port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank outlet; however, it should be noted that while reverse flow is possible, optimal performance in this mode cannot be guaranteed. Constructed with durability and reliability in mind, the DNCADJV299 features a solenoid tube assembly that is fatigue rated for up to 5000 psi (350 bar) service. Its operation does not require any minimum hydraulic pressure, making it versatile across various applications. The valve's wet armature design allows the working fluid to surround the armature, potentially impacting fluid integrity under prolonged coil energization. Users are advised to consider fluid characteristics as breakdowns can occur at elevated temperatures. This model includes EPDM seals suited for systems using phosphate ester fluids; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids should be avoided to prevent seal damage. Additionally, Sun Hydraulics has equipped this model with various coil termination and voltage options to cater to different system requirements and environments. The coils used are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. In terms of construction, the DNCADJV299 benefits from Sun\u2019s floating style design which minimizes internal part binding due to installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. This feature enhances overall operational stability and extends the life of the valve. With its robust design and adaptable configurations, this valve stands out as an efficient solution for directional control in hydraulic circuits.

This solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve. The transition between positions is closed. The closed transition greatly reduces the loss of oil when shifting which can be of particular importance in pilot control circuits.

  • Valve capacity is based on port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank. Although reverse flow is possible, the same performance cannot be guaranteed and is not recommended.
  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
  • The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
