The Sun Hydraulics DNCADJV728 (DNCADJV728) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve. This direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve features a closed transition between positions, effectively minimizing oil loss during shifts which is crucial in pilot control circuits. With a valve capacity designated with port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank, it ensures efficient operation although it is noted that reverse flow might not yield the same performance and is generally not recommended. The DNCADJV728 operates without requiring a minimum hydraulic pressure and is fatigue rated for up to 5000 psi or 350 bar. It incorporates a wet armature design where the working fluid surrounds the armature; this can be relevant if the coil remains energized for extended periods as some fluids may degrade under heat. The valve\u2019s solenoid tube assembly showcases an innovative magnetic design that enhances efficiency by providing high spool actuating force per watt expended, ensuring reliable valve shifting. Designed for versatility in application environments, it offers various coil termination and voltage options including models with surge protection. The coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. Additionally, options are available for enhanced environmental protection with weatherized coils and kits. This model also benefits from Sun\u2019s floating style construction which reduces the risk of internal parts binding due to installation torque or machining variations of cavity/cartridge. With its robust design tailored for demanding applications, DNCADJV728 provides precise control and reliability essential for efficient hydraulic systems operations.

This solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve. The transition between positions is closed. The closed transition greatly reduces the loss of oil when shifting which can be of particular importance in pilot control circuits.
- Valve capacity is based on port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank. Although reverse flow is possible, the same performance cannot be guaranteed and is not recommended.
- The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
- This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
- A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
- The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
- Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
