The Sun Hydraulics DNCADLV836 (DNCADLV836) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve that excels in delivering precise directional control in hydraulic systems. Featuring a direct-acting, balanced spool design, this valve ensures smooth and efficient operation with closed transitions between positions to minimize oil loss during shifts. This characteristic is particularly beneficial in pilot control circuits where maintaining fluid integrity is crucial. The DNCADLV836 operates with a valve capacity determined by using port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank. While it does allow for reverse flow, optimal performance under these conditions cannot be assured. The robust design includes a solenoid tube assembly that is fatigue rated for service up to 5000 psi (350 bar), making it suitable for high-pressure applications. Additionally, the valve requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation, enhancing its versatility across various hydraulic setups. Constructed with EPDM seals configured specifically for use with phosphate ester fluids, the DNCADLV836 must avoid exposure to petroleum-based products to prevent seal damage. Its wet armature setup means the working fluid surrounds the armature which could be susceptible to heat during prolonged coil energization\u2014a consideration when using certain fluid types like water-glycol mixtures. This model also boasts a variety of coil termination and voltage options, including designs with surge protection and others rated up to IP69K for enhanced environmental resilience. The coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted in either direction on the tube, providing flexibility in installation and maintenance. Incorporating Sun's floating style construction minimizes internal parts binding due to installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations, ensuring reliable and consistent performance. With its swift response time of typically 50 ms and capacity up to 8 gpm (30 L/min), the DNCADLV836 stands out as an effective solution for dynamic fluid management in complex hydraulic systems.

This solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve. The transition between positions is closed. The closed transition greatly reduces the loss of oil when shifting which can be of particular importance in pilot control circuits.

  • Valve capacity is based on port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank. Although reverse flow is possible, the same performance cannot be guaranteed and is not recommended.
  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
  • The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
