The Sun Hydraulics DNCADTN928 (DNCADTN928) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for efficient control in hydraulic systems. This direct-acting, balanced spool valve ensures a closed transition between positions, minimizing oil loss during shifting which is crucial in maintaining the integrity of pilot control circuits. The valve features a unique wet armature design where the working fluid surrounds the armature; this setup needs careful consideration as prolonged energization can lead to fluid degradation due to heat exposure. With a capacity of 8 gpm (30 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), the DNCADTN928 is engineered for robust performance under demanding conditions. The valve's quick response time of approximately 50 ms and impressive leakage control at high pressures (10 in\u00b3/min at 3000 psi) make it suitable for applications requiring precise fluid control and reliability. Additionally, its solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi service, enhancing its durability and lifespan. The DNCADTN928 offers flexibility with various coil termination and voltage options, including models with surge protection. These coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. For environmental resilience, additional weatherized coils and kits are available to protect against harsh conditions. This valve also incorporates Sun\u2019s floating style construction which helps prevent internal parts from binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. Suitable for use with phosphate ester fluids when configured with EPDM seals, this valve maintains its performance integrity by preventing exposure to incompatible materials like petroleum-based fluids which could damage the seals. With such comprehensive features tailored for high efficiency and reliability, the Sun Hydraulics DNCADTN928 stands out as an essential component in advanced hydraulic systems requiring precise directional control of fluids.

This solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve. The transition between positions is closed. The closed transition greatly reduces the loss of oil when shifting which can be of particular importance in pilot control circuits.
- Valve capacity is based on port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank. Although reverse flow is possible, the same performance cannot be guaranteed and is not recommended.
- The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
- This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
- A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
- The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
- Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
