The Sun Hydraulics DNCALCV71219 (DNCALCV71219) is a high-performance, solenoid-operated 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve. This direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve is designed with a closed transition between positions, effectively minimizing oil loss during shifts which is particularly beneficial in pilot control circuits. The valve's operation does not require a minimum hydraulic pressure, making it versatile for various applications. With a capacity of 8 gpm/30 L/min and an impressive maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi/350 bar, the DNCALCV71219 is suitable for demanding hydraulic systems. It features a quick response time of approximately 50 ms and maintains low leakage rates even at high pressures. This model also supports reverse flow, although optimal performance in this mode is not guaranteed. The construction of the DNCALCV71219 includes a wet armature design where the working fluid surrounds the armature. This setup needs consideration as prolonged energization can lead to fluid degradation due to heat exposure. The solenoid's efficient magnetic design ensures robust spool actuating force per watt expended, contributing to reliable valve shifting. This valve model offers flexibility with various coil termination and voltage options available, including configurations with surge protection. Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. Additional features like IP69K-rated connector options and weatherized coils enhance its adaptability to different environmental conditions. Sun Hydraulics has incorporated their floating style construction into this model to reduce the risk of internal parts binding due to installation issues or cavity/cartridge machining variations. Overall, the DNCALCV71219 combines efficient performance with durable construction and versatile configuration options, making it an excellent choice for sophisticated hydraulic systems requiring precise control and reliability.

This solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve. The transition between positions is closed. The closed transition greatly reduces the loss of oil when shifting which can be of particular importance in pilot control circuits.

  • Valve capacity is based on port 3 as the inlet and port 1 as the tank. Although reverse flow is possible, the same performance cannot be guaranteed and is not recommended.
  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
  • The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
