The Sun Hydraulics DNDAMXE4E24V (DNDAMXE4E24V) is a solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for direct-acting, balanced spool directional control. This valve is engineered with a solenoid tube assembly rated for fatigue at 5000 psi (350 bar), ensuring durability in high-pressure applications. It functions without requiring minimum hydraulic pressure, offering versatile application options. The cartridge provides several manual override configurations, although compatibility with weatherized coils is limited in such cases. Notably, the D or L control models feature a detent mechanism for temporary actuation, supporting approximately 7,000 cycles of mechanical life expectancy. The valve incorporates EPDM seals suitable for systems using phosphate ester fluids but vulnerable to damage from petroleum-based substances. Its wet armature design allows the working fluid to cool the armature while being exposed to coil-generated heat—a consideration when using fluids like water-glycol mixtures that may degrade over time due to thermal exposure. With various coil termination and voltage options available—including surge protection—the valve offers flexibility in configuration while maintaining high efficiency through its unique magnetic design. This efficiency translates into significant spool actuating force per watt consumed, ensuring reliable valve shifting performance. Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted bidirectionally on the tube. Coil connectors are rated up to IP69K for robust environmental protection. The valve uses Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding risks due to installation torque or machining variations. The DNDAMXE4E24V features a T-31A cavity and Series 1 classification with a capacity of up to 10 gpm (40 L/min). It boasts a typical response time of 50 ms and maximum leakage at specified conditions of 10 in³/min at 3000 psi (160 cc/min at 210 bar). With a switching frequency capability of up to 15,000 cycles per hour, this model is both efficient and reliable for demanding applications.

This solenoid-operated 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

• The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
• This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
• This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See the CONFIGURATION section. Please note: Manual override functionality is not compatible with weatherized coils.
• On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
• Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
• This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
• A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
• The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
• Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
• Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
• Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
