The Sun Hydraulics DNDATDN2E24V (DNDATDN2E24V) is a solenoid-operated 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve that functions as a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve. This durable component is designed for high-pressure applications, with a fatigue-rated solenoid tube assembly capable of handling up to 5000 psi (350 bar). It features a direct actuated mechanism that operates without the need for minimum hydraulic pressure. The valve offers various manual override options, although models with manual overrides are not compatible with weatherized coils. The manual control assembly has an estimated mechanical life of about 7,000 cycles when equipped with the D or L control detent mechanism for temporary actuation. This cartridge valve incorporates a wet armature design, where the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to coil-generated heat. While this design enhances efficiency by providing high spool actuating force per watt expended, it can affect fluids like water-glycol mixtures over time due to potential varnish formation. A variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, some offering surge protection and IP69K ratings for enhanced environmental resistance. The DNDATDN2E24V is built using Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal part binding from excessive torque or machining variations. It fits into cavity T-31A and belongs to Series 1, supporting a capacity of up to 10 gpm (40 L/min). It features rapid response times typically around 50 ms and allows switching frequencies up to 15,000 cycles per hour. The valve has minimal leakage at maximum conditions and includes interchangeable coils compatible with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products. With its compact dimensions and robust performance characteristics, this cartridge valve is ideal for demanding hydraulic systems requiring reliable directional control.

This solenoid-operated 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See the CONFIGURATION section. Please note: Manual override functionality is not compatible with weatherized coils.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
  • The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
