The Sun Hydraulics DNDATHV2E12V (DNDATHV2E12V) is a solenoid-operated 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for direct-acting and balanced spool directional control applications. This robust valve can handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and offers a flow capacity of up to 10 gpm (40 L/min). Notably, the solenoid tube assembly is fatigue-rated for high-pressure service, ensuring reliability in demanding environments. It features a wet armature design that allows the working fluid to surround the armature, which aids in efficient heat dissipation but requires consideration when using fluids like water-glycol mixtures that may degrade under prolonged high temperatures. The valve's response time is typically around 50 milliseconds, with a switching frequency capability of up to 15,000 cycles per hour. It also provides several manual override options to suit different operational needs, although manual overrides are not compatible with weatherized coils. The mechanical life expectancy for models equipped with D or L control detents reaches approximately 7,000 cycles. Sun Hydraulics offers this cartridge with interchangeable coils from other Sun Series 1 solenoid products, allowing flexibility in coil termination and voltage options. These coils can be mounted in either direction and come with connector options rated up to IP69K for enhanced environmental protection. Additionally, the cartridge incorporates Sun\u2019s floating style construction to reduce the risk of internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. This valve fits into a T31A cavity and requires an installation torque between 30-35 lbf ft (41-47 Nm). With its high-efficiency solenoid design yielding significant spool actuating force per watt expended, this product ensures reliable valve shifting across various hydraulic applications.

This solenoid-operated 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See the CONFIGURATION section. Please note: Manual override functionality is not compatible with weatherized coils.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
  • The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
